Third " Vases 2 "

The first step of the restoration is the analysis of the actual state of the objects. That starts with recording the status in situ , and continues with a thorough investigation of the vases in the workshop. We search for immediately visible damages , like cracks , old mendings , corrosion. Furthermore an analysis of the painting is done , i.e. layer by layer the paint is taken away and a protocol is written of the results. We found that there indeed is an older layer of paint beneath the actual one , that differs from the top coating . Furthermore action , as far as painting is concerned , now is on the hands of the cnservation department. Yours Michael Haase
